About the Site
The goal of this website is to look at the Harry
Potter series and how it deals with the theme of coming of age. This book
series turned into films chronicles the journey of Harry and his friends as they
grow up and overcome various challenges placed in front of them. Children all
over the world have connected with the Harry Potter books and movies and have
grown up right alongside Harry. The coming of age experiences in the series may
contain a bit more magic than typical children find in their own lives, but
they are still relatable and, ultimately, help guide kids through their own
coming of age journeys. This site looks at how each of the three main
characters come of age, how some of the most important coming of age events are
depicted in the series, and how growing up with Harry Potter shapes the coming
of age experiences of its audience. This is a website for anyone who loves
Harry Potter and wants to look at the series in a new and relevant way.
